GRAPES
| Grapes are
an ancient symbol of bountiful harvest and its celebration. Spanning
thirty years of sculpting precious metals, this prolific grape series
has many incarnations, the most recent being the Cabernet Sauvignon
series. |

French
Grapes
| This is the first series
that features spring fresh leaves without the grapes, and it is
one of my most realistic plant portraits. When collector Carol
Wilson, owner of Elk Run Vineyards in Maryland, viewed the first
circlet, she said, “Linda, I had no idea you were carving
Cabernet Sauvignon leaves!” |

LINDA'S
PROCESS
Seduced by the beautiful vineyards of The Castle of Chalon in the east
of France, I set up a workshop nearby.
 Patterns
were drawn from the spring grape leaf specimens.Over a period
of three weeks and working with a minimum of tools, thirty-six
grape leaves were cut, and sculpted. |
