One of the most prolific and largest variety of any plant species, ivy is an everlasting symbol of beneficent leadership and eternal love. It is often included in wedding bouquets and with grapes twined the mythic staff of Osiris in ancient Egypt.  I ask couples to bring me samples of ivy growing in a place of significance to them and cut the "family" pattern. Each suite of wedding jewelry is unique to the commissioning couple. Often I get requests from them for napkin rings or other pieces " in our family pattern" as anniversary presents. Grandmothers have called to commission baby spoons and rattles in "the family pattern" for their first grand and great grand children!   Ivy is an everlasting plant.
